Complaint Filed Against Deepika Padukone, Kabir Khan And Makers Of ‘83' For Alleged Cheating-Report
A UAE-based financier has reportedly filed a complaint against Deepika Padukone and 83 makers for alleged cheating
Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone starrer upcoming sports drama ‘83’ has been creating a huge buzz since its announcement. Be its posters, teasers, or the trailer, Kabir Khan’s directorial has been making headlines for multiple reasons. Well, the film has been in the news yet again, but this time for all the wrong reasons. Legal troubles seem to be pouring in for Deepika. According to the India Today report, a case of alleged cheating has been registered against the actress and the makers of this sports drama.
The UAE-based financer reportedly has filed a complaint against the makers alleging that his company was promised good returns by Vibri Media after they invested approximately Rs 16 crores. Since he did not get what was promised, the businessman approached the Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Mumbai and filed a complaint.
The report added that their funds were directed into multiple agreements involving filmmakers Kabir Khan, Sajid Nadiadwala, and Deepika Padukone, who is one of the producers, among others. It is being said that the money was used for the production of 83 without getting any written consent from the businessman. In his statement, Advocate Rizwan Siddiquee claimed that his client has filed a criminal complaint against all the producers of 83 on the grounds of cheating and criminal conspiracy.
India Today quoted Advocate Rizwan Siddiquee as saying, “It is true that my client has filed a criminal complaint against all the Producers of the film 83 on the grounds of cheating and criminal conspiracy. My client had no other option but to initiate strict legal proceedings, as the producers did not seem interested in resolving the dispute amicably, despite full knowledge of my clients rights.
