And here comes the news we all have been waiting for desperately. Alia Bhatt and Sanjay Leela Bhansali are teaming up for a film titled Gangubai Kathiawadi. This after SLB's Inshallah starring Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt failed to take off
Post the announcement of Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt's Inshallah getting shelved, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has collaborated with the Raazi star for another project. Inshallah was one big project that everyone was looking forward to, but for some reason, the film has been put on hold. Of late, our shutterbugs have been clicking Alia zooming in and out of SLB's office and we knew something was on cards. Now, comes the announcement. Reportedly, they have joined hands for a film titled Gangubai Kathiawadi and the release date has also been locked.
As tweeted by Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh, SLB has roped in Alia to play the titular role in his film titled Gangubai Kathiawadi and that the film will release on September 11, 2020. Sanjay Leela Bhansali has teamed up with Jayantilal Gada's PEN India Ltd to produce the film. His tweet reads, "Sanjay Leela Bhansali announces his new film #GangubaiKathiawadi... Stars Alia Bhatt in title role... Also, release date finalized: 11 Sept 2020... Bhansali Productions collaborates with Jayantilal Gada's PEN India Ltd for this film."

While it would have been great to see Alia and Salman together, this film too has raised the interest level of her fans. Sanjay Leela Bhansali is one of the best directors of Bollywood and it would be great to see a fine actor being directed by the ace director. Reports also had it that Ranveer Singh was approached to play the male lead in this film, however, he rejected it.
