Coolie No 1: Karisma Kapoor Sportingly Promotes The Sara Ali Khan- Varun Dhawan Starrer; Here’s Why Govinda Has Stayed Away - EXCLUSIVE
While Karisma Kapoor has been doing her bit to promote Sara Ali Khan- Varun Dhawan starrer Coolie No 1, Govinda has stayed away from promoting the film. Find out why!
Interestingly Karisma Kapoor who starred in the original Coolie No 1, has been doing her bit to promote the new Coolie No.1. Apparently David Dhawan personally requested his favourite actress (Karisma has been directed by Dhawan in nearly 10 films) to do her Coolie No.1 plugs. Karisma is happy to oblige. After all, her biggest hits are with David Dhawan. Govinda who co-starred with Karisma in the original Coolie No 1 in 1995 won’t even hear of the remake.
A close producer friend of Govinda informs me, “Chee Chee is disillusioned by David’s behavior. He did 17 films with David, and then when Govinda’s career hit a low patch David wouldn’t take his calls. Govinda has neither forgotten nor forgiven.”
Sources say Govinda is all set to hit back. He is all set to re-launch himself as the dancing star with a brand new director.
Meanwhile, just days before the release of Coolie No 1 on Amazon Prime Video, Karisma Kapoor, who played Sara Ali Khan’s role in the original 1995 film, grooved to the redux version of the popular track ‘Mirchi Lagi Toh’, which released a few days ago.
Coolie No 1, produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani and Deepshikha Deshmukh, will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on December 25. Apart from Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan, the film also stars Paresh Rawal, Javed Jaffery and Rajpal Yadav in supporting roles.
