It has been more than three months that theatres have been shut. Due to the spread of Coronavirus, the Government set a strict lockdown in motion and since then, theatres have been shut. No new film has been able to release. From Salman Khan Eid release Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai to Akshay Kumar's Sooryavanshi - all the films that were to release in the last three months got postponed. The list also includes Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan's Coolie No 1. Now, the latest reports suggest that the makers of Coolie No 1 are eyeing New Years to release their film.
As per a report in ETimes, Sara and Varun's film may hit the theatres during New Years' and cash on the extended weekend. Though many films are opting for a digital release, the makers of Coolie No 1 want to take the traditional route and release the film only in theatres. This film is helmed by none-other-than David Dhawan who had also directed the original film starring Govinda and Karisma Kapoor.
Well, not just Coolie No 1, many other films too are eyeing the New Years' window for their release and if so, it is going to be one hell of a New Year for all the movie buffs.
Meanwhile, films like Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur's Sadak 2, Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani's Laxmmi Bomb, Ajay Devgn's Bhuj, Kunal Kemmu's Lootcase and many more are set to release on the web on Disney+ Hotstar in the coming few days. The list also includes Sushant Singh Rajput's last film Dil Bechara along with Sanjana Sanghi. This film will release on July 24.
