Varun Dhawan is on a roll! There has been no looking back for the actor who made his Bollywood debut in 2012 with Student of the Year, also starring Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt. He will next be seen in Jugg Jug Jeeyo, and was last seen in David Dhawan directorial Coolie No 1 alongside Sara Ali Khan. The film released on Amazon Prime Video on December 25, and it is a remake of the 1995 film starring Govinda and Karisma Kapoor.

Recently, reports about Varun Dhawan being paid a whopping amount for Coolie No 1 surfaced. If these reports are to be believed, Varun Dhawan received a paycheck of a staggering Rs 25 crore for the film! A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Varun Dhawan has had a good career graph. With the past couple of films and an array of line-up in the pipeline, he’s in demand. But, there was a lot of anticipation from Coolie No 1. The film got a deal on Amazon Prime Video after theatres were shut down during the lockdown. With this film, the actor’s paycheck got bigger than ever. The actor was reportedly paid Rs 25 crores for Coolie No. 1. This has been his highest remuneration for any film so far.”

The report in Bollywood Hungama also mentions David Dhawan’s remuneration, and he reportedly took home a huge amount of Rs 15 crore! The source further added, “Rohit Dhawan, who was the associate director of Coolie No.1,was paid Rs. 7 crores. All in all, the Dhawan family raked in nearly Rs. 50 crores for this project.”
