Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan’s first venture Coolie No.1, helmed by David Dhawan, is finally releasing on OTT platform, Amazon Prime Video on December 25, 2020. But as soon as the trailer dropped on the internet, this comic caper instantly got compared to Govinda starrer of the same name released in 1995. Hence, the lead pair, during the trailer launch event, opened up on this comparison and stated why their film is different from the one which starred Govinda.
While Simmba actress mentioned their venture is totally different and doesn’t have any link with the old one, for better understanding she shared their film will have more elements to look forward to. She said, “It a totally different film. It has no link with the older film. There will be more flavours in it.” Sara had faced a similar comparison with her last release, Love Aaj Kal as well, which starred her father Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone.
While adding to Sara’s explanation, protagonist Varun called Coolie No. 1 a re-adaptation, he also urged the people to watch the film to know more about it. “It’s a re-adaptation. You will have to watch the film to know about it. It’s will be complete fun film with high entertainment quotient,” said Varun.
The trailer also invited trolls, where many compared Varun to Govinda and commented Varun can’t reach the benchmark created by the senior actor.
Just like the Govinda starrer, this fresh new flick has been helmed by David Dhawan too and will is touted to be the 45th film of his directorial career. ALSO READ: Coolie No 1 Trailer: 5 Things We Loved About Sara Ali Khan-Varun Dhawan’s Promo That Left Us Wanting For More
