Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone starrer Padmavati has been falling prey to innumerous controversies ever since the project went on floors. Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has declared that his government would not allow release of the historical drama in the poll-bound state. "There is a lot of sensitivity in Kshatriya and Rajput communities with regards to certain depiction of history. We respect their feelings and with elections on the anvil, the state government does not want any controversy. Besides that the law and order is also our responsibility, so we have decided that we will not allow release of movie 'Padmavati' in Gujarat," said the Gujarat CM.

The controversy took a deadly turn today after a Jaipur youth was found hanging in the Nahargarh Fort, Jaipur last week.
As of yesterday, the Indian Films and TV Directors’ Association (IFTDA),
