Since then, the actress starred in Sidharth Malhotra's Aiyaary and in De De Pyaar De with Ajay Devgn. With almost every actress getting trolled for their fashion sense, Rakul too has been at the receiving end. Recently, in an interview, Rakul Preet Singh opened up on being slut-shamed and trolled on social media.
Talking about being trolled, Rakul Preet Singh revealed how trolls are people mostly without any real identity. In an interview with HT Café, the actress said, “Trolls are people mostly without any real identity. They think they're of some importance to a verified profile, and getting a response on their cheap remark would validate their existence. But it's a myth." On the other hand, Rakul Preet also recalled an incident when she was trolled on social media. The actress mentioned how she could not hold herself from replying to the nasty comments. Singh said, “I had woken up to that post and I just couldn't hold myself from replying.” The actress also mentioned how it was not Rakul as an actor, but Rakul as a girl who gave it back and added, “I feel there's so much negativity and hatred in this world. Now, I've come to a point that there's a certain section of the society that you can't do anything about."
Meanwhile, the De De Pyaar De actress also stated how she is fine with the trolling on social media, but only until it’s harmless and it does not involve her family members and mentioned she is open to criticism. For the unversed, Rakul Preet Singh was earlier trolled for her denim shorts on social media. One particular troll replied to Rakul’s picture and said, “When she forgot to wear her pant after the session in the car.” As the comment by the person was highly unacceptable, the De De Pyaar De actress went all out and lashed out on the troll on social media.
