Deepika Padukone And Gully Boy's Siddhant Chaturvedi Are Set To Star In A Shakun Batra Directorial

Deepika Padukone is currently busy with her work commitments and manages to spend some quality time with her family. While Gully Boy actor Siddhant Chaturvedi was loved by many for his role as MC Sher in the Zoya Akhtar film. After working with Ranveer Singh in Gully Boy, Siddhant who is carving his niche in Bollywood is set to star alongside the gorgeous Deepika Padukone. According to reports, the two talented actors of B-Town are set to star together in a Shakun Batra directorial.
Filmmaker Shakun Batra charmed the audiences with her slice-of-life films Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Imran Khan, and Kapoor and Sons that features Sidharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt, and Fawad Khan. According to a Mumbai Mirror report, Shakun is back with another modern story script that will star Deepika Padukone and Siddhant Chaturvedi in pivotal roles. As per sources, the film will be produced by Karan Johar and will go on floors in March 2020. A source close to the development of the film also mentioned that the story revolves around the relationships in the modern world and two couples, out of which, one will be enacted by Deepika and Siddhant. The source in the report also shared that as Batra wanted to cast a new face opposite Deepika, Siddhant bagged the role as he fit the bill. Deepika and Siddhant will also have several intense romantic scenes in the film while the movie will be set in India. The team of the untitled Deepika and Siddhant film is currently working on the logistics and finalizing the locations. The film will also feature two more prominent actors in lead alongside Padukone and Chaturvedi. According to the source in the report, Batra has discussed the script with both actors months back and they both happily agreed.
While Deepika has never done a film in a similar space, Siddhant is keen on portraying different characters and the actors will undergo character development workshops with their director early next year. Meanwhile, on the work front, Padukone has film 83’, Chhapaak, and Mahabharata, while Chaturvedi has signed three films out of which one has gone on floors.
