Amidst investigating Sushant Singh Rajput's death case, the federal agencies took a pit stop when they found some evidence involving drugs. During which, quite a few names from the film industry came under the radar including Deepika Padukone whose name got attached to the nexus of the alleged drug of Bollywood after her chats with manager Karishma Prakash was revealed. In the chats, the two were reportedly discussing 'maal', 'hash' and more which caused suspicion. Today, the Chhapaak actress visited the NCB office for her interrogation in the drug probe but before she appeared at NCB, Deepika held a meeting late at night with top lawyers in a five-star hotel, ahead of her interrogation at NCB, as reported by Republic.
Reportedly, along with Deepika, her husband/actor Ranveer Singh stayed at Taj Hotel in Mumbai to evade media chase. Apart from attending the meeting together, there were reports where Ranveer had requested NCB to let him be a part of the interrogation as Deepika sometimes suffers from anxiety and panic attacks. However, NCB officials dismissed the report saying that they haven't received any such request from any summoned person. On Thursday, Deepika Padukone landed in Mumbai who was in Goa, shooting for her next film with Ananya Panday and Siddhant Chaturvedi. The actress was supposed to appear before NCB yesterday but her interrogation was held today.
Other than Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor who also came under the scanner after seeing an alleged link with drugs have been called around the same time, though the proceedings will be held at two venues. Another Bollywood actress whose name emerged in this drug nexus was Rakul Preet Singh who was questioned by NCB on September 25.
