Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has many memorable performances to her credit but the one that is very close to her heart is Piku. Yes, you read that right! In a recent interview, the leggy lass revealed that her character from Shoojit Sircar’s directorial is very similar to the way she is in real life. Deepika even mentioned that one could literally see her natural skin without makeup in the movie and that Piku is one of those films where she felt completely like herself.

While Deepika was talking about her favourite no-makeup look, she was seen wearing heavy makeup. And, this did not go down well with netizens as they started trolling the Padmaavat actress for her contradictory views. Speaking to Allure magazine, Deepika was quoted saying, “I think a character that I’ve played that is very similar to the way I am in real life is probably Piku, just very natural. You could literally see the skin in the movie. In fact, I’d sit in the makeup chair for not more than 5 or 10 minutes including hair and makeup. Soon after this clip surfaced online, netizens started to take nasty digs at the actress. One user commented, “itni foundation kon lgta hai.” Another said, “What's wrong with her makeup artist? Why she's putting foundation which is not her skin color?.” One of the comments can be read, “Deepaka wearing too much highlighter all over her face and body. She looks wet that looks like she direct come from her bathroom.” Tagging Deepika, one Insta user pointed out, “Talking about less makeup by wearing dozen layers of makeup I mean I like you but this doesn't mean sense.”

On May 8, the 2015 released film ‘Piku’ which also starred Irrfan Khan and Amitabh Bachchan, completed 8 years of its release. To mark the occasion, Deepika shared a heartfelt note expressing that she misses Irrfan. The film garnered praise both from the audience as well as critics. Interestingly, Big B won his fourth National Film Award for Best Actor at the 63rd National Film Awards for his performance in Piku.
