Deepika Padukone is on top of the world. For, not only is she the highest paid actress in Bollywood, but also the 10th highest paid actress in the world (with her yearly earnings around $10 million) according to the Forbes list of the world’s highest paid actresses in 2016 which released yesterday. And, that’s not all. She is the only Indian actress to have made it to the coveted list.

As for Hollywood, Jennifer Lawrence has been named the highest paid actress in Hollywood for the consecutive second year. Lawrence made $46 million before taxes, most of which was because of the fee she charged for her final Hunger Games instalment and the forthcoming Passengers. Last year, the actress was in the top spot with $52 million.

Mellissa McCarthy, who was second on the list, tasted success this year with Ghostbusters and pocketed a cool $36 million -- $10 million less than Jennifer.
