Deepika Padukone Jets Off To Bangalore To Celebrate Success Of ‘Gehraiyaan’ With Her Family
Deepika Padukone has traveled to her hometown, Bangalore to celebrate Gehraiyaan’s success with her family
Bollywood’s Mastani Deepika Padukone is the powerhouse actress that we have in the industry. In her career spanning over more than a decade, the actress has played diverse and challenging roles and has shown her versatility with every film she has done. Deepika is currently garnering love and appreciation for her brilliant portrayal of Alisha in her latest released ‘Gehraiyaan’. Although Shakun Batra’s directorial received mixed reviews, Padukone’s performance was hailed by everyone.
The Piku actress has now jetted off to Bangalore to celebrate the success of her film with her family. Reportedly, Deepika will stay at her hometown over the weekend and will fly back to Mumbai on Monday. Needless to say, the 36-year-old actress is very close to her family and leaves no opportunity to spend time with them.
In an interview, the actress had mentioned that the most touching response for the film came from her family. NDTV had earlier quoted her saying, "It was a little hard for them to digest what my character goes through. They have seen it so up, close, and personal with me. What they truly appreciated was my performance and also the way mental illness and mental health were depicted in the film, these were the two big takeaways. My family is also proud of the way I pulled this off and there was also a little bit of how do you do this?.”
Last week, Deepika penned a note of gratitude for her fans for showering love on Gehraiyaan. She had shared a series of her photos from the movie and wrote, “The response to Gehraiyaan has been dizzying to say the least! ‘Alisha’ has been my most visceral, indelible and delicious experience as an artist. While I am ecstatic and overwhelmed, I am also truly grateful and humbled!.”
Talking about playing such a layered character of Alisha, Deepika Padukone had said in multiple media interactions that it is one of the most challenging characters she has portrayed on screen. She also stated that the character of Alisha is 'extremely close to her heart'. Also starring Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Pandey and Dhairya Karwa, ‘Gehraiyaan’ was released on 11 February 2022 on Amazon Prime Video.
