As much as Karan Johar's popular talk show - Koffee With Karan - is enjoyed for all the gossipy sessions ft. a bevvy of Bollywood biggies, one can't deny the fact that a majority of controversies of B-town are churned out from the same couch. With every new season, we come across a streak of sensationalising statements, opinions and jokes that the stars prefer keeping within themselves otherwise. So far, the filmmaker has shot for six seasons of this show and he has only taken the notch higher every time. Right from Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor's salty jibes at Ranbir Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor taking panga with Priyanka Chopra and Bipasha Basu to the famous Nepotism remark by Kangana Ranaut to Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya's misogynistic statements; here's a rundown of some of the most entertaining, memorable and 'oops-worthy' controversial statements and controversies that took place on the KWK couch.

1 - Kangana Ranaut's 'Nepotism' remark

It was after this particular episode that the word 'nepotism' became quite common in Bollywood and is openly used, to date. It so happened that a bold and straightforward Kangana Ranaut called KJo the 'flag-bearer of nepotism' in Bollywood, for all the obvious reasons. Well, a shocked Johar didn't see it coming and was quite speechless. Ever since then, the war between Karan and Kangana/ her sister Rangoli Chandel has often set the headlines buzzing.


2 - Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor's jokes on Ranbir Kapoor

While everything is known about Ranbir and Deepika's relationship, there were speculations about Sonam and Ranbir dating for a short period during their debut film, Saawariya. However, by the time these ladies graced the KWK couch together, they had moved on from Kapoor.  During the episode, Sonam and Deepika didn't only make fun of Ranbir as a boyfriend but the latter also spilt the beans on her getting cheated on by Ranbir, though indirectly. They also roasted the Barfi actor. Well, as aftermath, we don't know about Ranbir but his father Rishi was extremely annoyed by Sonam and Deepika's statements and went on to bash them. Things, however, were settled eventually.

3 - Hardik Pandya's sexist revelations

Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul are two of the most looked-upon cricketers on-field; however, their reputation was damaged of sorts after Pandya made some offending revelations on the KWK couch. One of his offensive statements was when after KJo asked, "Why don't you ask women's names at nightclubs?" after Hardik revealed he struggles in remembering names of the women he interacts with during such parties. The cricketer responded saying, "I like to watch and observe how they move. I'm little from the Black side so I need to see how they move." As for his sex life, Pandya had said, “When I lost my virginity, I came home and said, Main karke aaya hai aaj (I did it today)." This brought him at the receiving end of backlash and he, along with KL Rahul, was temporarily suspended by BCCI.

4 - Kareena Kapoor's sly war with Priyanka Chopra and Bipasha Basu

Back in the day, Kareena Kapoor's rivalry with Priyanka Chopra and Bipasha Basu was on its peak.  During one of her appearances at the talk show, Bebo was asked about what she would like to ask PeeCee, to which, the actress asserted, “Why does she have that accent?” Well, Priyanka had her comeback ready. She said, “I got it from the same place where her boyfriend (Saif Ali Khan) got it from," when asked about the same. As for her war with Bips, Bebo was what comes to her mind when he says the following actor's name. And she said, "Expressionless" on John's name, whom she was dating back then. And while John chose to pay no heed, Bipasha gave it back to the actress by saying, "Kareena Kapoor has too many expressions."
