Actress Deepika Padukone has made a name for herself in the entertainment industry with her down-to-earth personality, versatile performances, fashion statements and media appearances. A day after taking the internet by storm due to her appearance on the red carpet of the 77th British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) award ceremony, reports stated that the actress is pregnant with her and Ranveer Singh’s first child. A source even confirmed the news with a leading magazine.

In an interview with The Week, a source close to Deepika and Ranveer revealed that she is indeed pregnant with her first child. They went on to add that she is currently in her second trimester. For the unversed, the pregnancy rumours started surfacing on the internet after she was seen hiding her midriff during her appearance on BAFTA’s red carpet. She was draped in a golden-silver shimmery Sabyasachi saree for the event and had managed to steal the attention of the international media. A netizen was quick to point out the ongoing rumour on the discussion Reddit platform Bolly Blinds N Gossips. Sharing snapshots of a report by The Times Of India, they captioned the post, “Everyone lurks here, I'm convinced, also a source confirms it to be true??(last slide).” Redditors were quick to take to the comment section of the post to express their opinions. While many pointed out people’s unhealthy obsession with actresses getting pregnant, others maintained that such good news should be delivered by the happy couple, when they feel comfortable. For the unversed, the couple fell in love with each other while working together for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 2012 movie Ram-Leela. They got married in 2018, six years after dating each other. Being together for more than a decade, they truly are the epitome of couple goals and have set the bar high for all the lovers out there. 

On the work front, last seen in Karan Johar’s comeback directorial Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Ranveer will be next seen in Singham 3 and Don 3. On the other hand, Deepika Padukone has Prabhas starrer Kalki 2898 AD in the pipeline. She recently made the headlines for entering Rohit Shetty’s cop universe as Shakti Shetty.
