Sunny Deol, Bharatiya Janata Party's MP from Gurdaspur in Punjab, personally intervened after he came to know about an incident of human slavery. The woman, Veena Bedi, was reportedly sold to a Pakistani man by a travel agent who had conned her into believing that he would help her land a housekeeping job for a salary of Rs 30,000 per month. The Gadar actor promptly contacted the ministry of external affairs and, following a swift operation, Bedi was brought back home on Friday. Sunny was helped in his effort by two NGOs.
Now, taking to Twitter, Dharmendra, in two tweets, thanked all for extending their support for Sunny. Taking to Twitter, Dharmendra wrote, “Dear friends,thanks a lot for your encouraging comments for sunny . He will do his best for Gurdaspur A worried father.” In another tweet, Dharmendra shared a snapshot of a newspaper report in his tweet. Captioning which he wrote, “Naukri samajh ke farz nibhana, Sunny bete (Treat your job as your responsibility, son). God bless you.”

Earlier, we reported that Sunny Deol had announced that screenwriter Gurpreet Singh Palheri will look after the affairs of his constituency on behalf of the actor. The Bollywood actor turned MP issued a declaration and made it clear on his official letterhead that Palheri will henceforth look after the affairs of his constituency. Party insiders said that his ‘aide’ had also been authorised to take up issues related to Gurdaspur with Deputy Commissioner Vipul Ujwal.
