Dharmendra Reveals He Would Eat Onions To Mask The Smell Of Alcohol When Shooting With Asha Parekh For Aaye Din Bahaar Ke
Veteran actor Dharmendra is one of the biggest Bollywood stars of Indian film industry. His remarkable roles in the  films Phool Aur Patthar, Jugnu, Raja Jani, Loafer, Aaye Din Bahaar Ke and many more are etched in our memories and are unforgettable. He dominated the 90's and won many hearts with his acting in romantic films. The actor,with his long career span in Bollywood surely has a lot of interesting stories and he shared one such story on the sets of reality show Superstar Singer, where he was joined by other two actors Asha Parekh and Waheeda Rehman.

As per a report in IANS, Dharmendra said on the reality show that he would call Asha Parekh, Jubilee Parekh, since every movie of hers was a super-hit  and that he finally got to work along with the actress in the 1966 film Aaye Din Bahaar Ke. He revealed that while shooting with Asha Parekh, he would eat onions to hide the smell of alcohol since he would get drunk in the night while partying with the producers and crew members. Turns out, Asha Parekh didn't appreciatethe smell of onions wither. He further adds that on her suggestion, he stopped drinking and the two became great friends after that. Asha Parekh also added, "There was a song in which Dharmendra ji had to dance in the water. Because it was so cold, he would turn blue. Every time he came out of the water, he would be offered brandy. However, he would look at me, because I had told him that if he drinks I will walk out of the set. This went on for two or three days, but he did not take a sip of alcohol out of his respect for me,"





Besides working together in Aaye Din Bahaar Ke, Dharmendra and Asha Parekh have also worked together in other films like Samadhi and Aaya Saawan Jhoom Ke.
