The Indian beauty pageant industry scaled great heights in the year 2000 as the nation took home three prestigious titles: Miss Universe, Miss World, and Miss Asia Pacific. Well, the credits go to social worker and actress, Dia Mirza who was named Miss Asia Pacific Internation in 2000. 

In the same year, actresses Priyanka Chopra and Lara Dutta won Miss World and Miss Universe. 

Taking to Instagram, Dia shared a throwback picture that featured her in a black coat, Priyanka in a dress, and Lara in a pantsuit making it the most iconic picture in the history of Indian beauty pageant industry. Former Miss India sashes were worn by former beauty queens, who looked gorgeous in their black outfits.

Fans showered the post with several comments. Lara Dutta also expressed her gratitude for the post as she wrote, “Three girls with a heart full of dreams and each other to lean on!! @priyankachopra @diamirzaofficial (sic).”


Priyanka Chopra's next project Citadel, is a multi-series with productions from India, Italy and Mexico and it also stars Richard Madden and it will be directed by the Russo Brothers. Citadel is Priyanka Chopra's second project with Amazon Prime Video after announcing the Sangeet Project, a sangeet-themed dance reality show, which she will host with Nick Jonas. Last year, Priyanka Chopra was seen in Netflix's The White Tiger, based on Aravind Adiga's Booker Prize-winning novel. She was last seen in Matrix 4.

Lara Dutta is best known for starring in films such as Bhagam Bhag, Kaal, Partner, Chalo Dilli, the Don series of films and Welcome To New York. The actress was seen in the web-series Hiccups And Hookups and Kaun Banegi Shikharwati recently. In terms of films, Lara Dutta was last seen in Bell Bottom, in which she co-starred with Akshay Kumar, Vaani Kapoor and Huma Qureshi. In the film, she starred as Indira Gandhi.

Dia Mirza is best known for starring in films such as Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, Tehzeeb, Koi Mere Dil Mein Hai, Lage Raho Munna Bhai and Sanjay Dutt's biopic titled Sanju. She was last seen in Anubhav Sinha's critically acclaimed film Thappad, co-starring Taapsee Pannu.
