Aarey has become a topic of city-wide debate. Authorities have a plan to cut half of the trees of Aarey forest to make a place for car shed of metro trains. However, environmentalists and Mumbaikars are opposing this move. The latest report is that The Tree Authority has authorized MMRC to cut 2,232 trees of Aarey. This has made many Mumbaikars furious including Bollywood actress Dia Mirza. She took to social media to raise her concern on this.

Dia who always bats for protecting nature has once again raised her voice and called the cutting of Aarey forest a massacre. In her tweet, she has pleaded to the authorities that this decision should be revoked and Aarey should be saved. Dia is not the only one. Music composer Vishal Dadlani too took to Twitter and voiced his opinion on this. He wrote, “This is sickening. Just sickening. This is our air that they have stolen. Our future, or lives, our familes' health. Hope everyone who caused this or let this happen, rots in the most painful hell.”

Dia Mirza was last in news for her separation from husband Sahil Sangha. After being together for five years as husband and wife, Dia and Sahil called it quits and shared the news with their fans via social media. They still remain to be friends and amicably decided to part ways. “We thank our family and our friends for all their love and understanding and members of the media for their continued support and request everyone to respect our need for privacy at this time. We will not be commenting any further on this matter,” said a part of her post.
