On its opening day, Jawan raked in an astounding global box office collection of Rs 129 crore, establishing itself as the biggest-ever Hindi cinema opener directed by Atlee. Nonetheless, numerous fans have keenly observed a remarkable resemblance between the action flick's storyline and the script of another film. The plot of the film is not original claim many users on social media. Some users strongly believe that the core plot of Jawan bears a striking resemblance to the 1989 Tamil film Thaai Naadu. Numerous users have even gone so far as to assert that Shah Rukh Khan's film appears to have been directly lifted from the 1989 movie. One online user pointed out that Atlee's storyline seems to have been adapted from Thaai Naadu that features Sathyaraj in a dual role, mirroring the father and son dynamics portrayed by Shah Rukh Khan in Jawan. Many people claim that some scenes of the Shah Rukh Khan starrer is taken from the likes of Bahubali 2, Aparachit and Shivaji The Boss. Another user tweeted how SRK's look from the movie was close to a 1990 Hollywood classic Darkman. Helmed by Atlee, Jawan also stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi.
