DID YOU KNOW? Vicky Kaushal Was Once Jailed While Filming For Gangs Of Wasseypur-READ BELOW
It's been a decade since Gangs Of Wasseypur was released, but the film continues to win hearts with every passing day. It has etched itself in the history books for its high-octane drama, epic performances, thrilling plot and much more. However, fans of the series occasionally talk about how masterfully it was created.

The epic two-part gangster drama cemented Anurag Kashyap’s place in the list of India’s leading filmmakers and it gave exposure to the actors who turned out to be the celebrities in coming years. However, for those unaware, even Vicky Kaushal was a part of Gangs of Wasseypur and he served as the film’s assistant director and Anurag even shared a story about how Vicky ended up in jail while they were filming.

Recently, Manoj Bajpayee, Piyush Mishra, and Pankaj Tripathi joined Anurag Kashyap on The Kapil Sharma Show to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Gangs of Wasseypur.

During the show, Kapil Sharma questioned Piyush Mishra about his remark that he finds it surprising every time cast members in Anurag's movies avoid being imprisoned.

Anurag explained, “During Wasseypur, Vicky Kaushal went to jail once… We would shoot without permission, and once we were shooting the actual illegal sand mining that the mafia was conducting there. And Vicky got caught.”

However, Shlok Sharma who served as the second unit director of Gangs Of Wasseypur was arrested twice while shooting the film.

Speaking about the same, Anurag previously told PTI, “In Wasseypur, he went to jail twice. He wanted to shoot such shots of tracks that he placed cameras on the bridge. He then went to jail for that and if they had a camera there, he would have shot there as well.”

Earlier, Vicky also opened up about the time he was an assistant director. Sharing two pictures on Instagram, he wrote, "Circa 2010- Jab hum frame se bahar khade hua karte thhey. #GangsOfWasseypur . The first clap was nerve wrecking... had to give it in front of @bajpayee.manoj Sir’s face, #RajeevRavi Sir behind the camera and @anuragkashyap10 Sir at the monitor. After many rehearsals in a closed room on location, I did give my first clap. “Scene 72A, shot 1, take 1” ... the first thing I said in front of a camera and that’s how it all started!"
