Reportedly, the Kahaani actress had met Mary Kom director Omung Kumar at a suburban coffee shop where he offered her one of his upcoming productions.
But there's more to it than meets the eye.
Omung asked Vidya to step into Aishwarya Rai's shoes in his upcoming film Sarbjit because he wasn't sure if Aishwarya who heads the cast would continue. "Aishwarya has had a few creative differences with Omung," reveals a source.
Vidya, impressed with the script and her role, even gave the nod. But Aishwarya, after the initial hiccups, did a U-turn.
A friend of Omung says, "Omung has a few scripts which he won't direct. He has spoken to Vidya regarding one or two such stories but nothing is concrete yet."
However, a friend of the National Award winning heroine confirmed to SpotboyE.com that the meeting was indeed meant to discuss the Sarbjit biopic.
