Dil Chahta Hai marked the directorial debut of Farhan Akhtar. The movie, starring Preity Zinta, Aamir Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Saif Ali Khan, Sonal Kulkarni, and Dimple Kapadia in lead roles, is special for many reasons. Right from the amazing star cast to dialogues, cinematography and songs, Dil Chahta Hai is perfect on all levels and there's just no denying that!

Today (August 10), Dil Chahta Hai completes 20 years of its release. And on this occasion, Farhan Akhtar took to Twitter and thanked everyone who were a part of the film. The actor shared a still from the movie featuring Aamir Khan, Akshaye Khanna and Saif Ali Khan and thanked them for believing in him. He wrote, "Ya toh dosti gehri thi ya ye photo 3D thi.. thank you Aamir, Saif & Akshaye for your belief in the script, in a first time writer/director & for bringing Akash, Sameer & Sid to life in your own uniquely amazing way. Love you guys. #20yearsofDilChahtaHai."

Farhan Akhtar also thanked Preity Zinta and revealed that she was the first one to come on board for the film. Furthermore, Farhan thanked Sonali Kulkarni too. Talking about Dimple Kapadia, he wrote, "I think if you had said no, I'd probably have had to scrap making the film. Tara was written for you and thank my lucky stars that you said yes. Forever grateful. #DimpleKapadia."

In one of his tweets, Farhan thanked all the incredible supporting cast and amazing crew who made 'every day of the shoot feel like a breeze and every scene the best it could be.'

Meanwhile, as his first directorial venture marked 20 years, Farhan Akhtar announced his latest project. The multi-talented superstar announced his new film 'Jee Le Zaraa', with a casting coup in place - three leading ladies of Bollywood: Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Katrina Kaif, and Alia Bhatt.
