Dimple Kapadia’s Role In Tandav Was First Offered To Manisha Koirala, Here’s Why She Refused It- EXCLUSIVE
Saif Ali Khan’s digital debut Sacred Games earned him huge praises and the actor is back on the web medium with his forthcoming series, Tandav. The show which is based on Indian politics is on the lines of acclaimed American political thriller House of Cards.

While Saif’s first look has intrigued viewers, speculations are abuzz around the rest of the star cast. Dimple Kapadia and Gauahar Khan have been roped in for pivotal roles where the former will play boss to the latter. However, we have learnt from sources that Dimple Kapadia wasn’t the first choice for the role.

Manisha Koirala was the first preference for the makers, but the actress refused the offer as she wanted a lengthier part. When contacted, the actress did confirm that she was offered the film, but things didn’t work out.

Not just that, we even hear that several actresses from the 90s namely Urmila Matondkar, Raveena Tandon and Sonali Bendre were approached for the part but they also refused it. In fact, Sakshi Tanwar, a popular face on the small screen was also in the fray, but she also did not come onboard. Finally, Dimple Kapadia sealed the deal.

A few weeks back, we had also brought to you an update that Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar could possibly play the female lead opposite Saif in Tandav. She gave a look test for the film at YRF Studios, but her selection is under wraps for now.

We also told you that certain portions of the show have been shot at Saif’s ancestral property Pataudi Palace so the audience will get an inside glimpse into the royal palace when they watch the show.

Tandav is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, who marks his debut in the web world. The shooting for the series will commence in the next couple of months and it should hit the digital space by mid 2020.
