Director Mahesh Manjrekar On Acting In Antim-The Final Truth: I Didn't Want To Act, Salman Forced Me To Do It
Antim: The Final Truth starring Salman Khan and Aayush Sharma will be released on November 26.
The trailer of Salman Khan and Aayush Sharma starrer Antim: The Final Truth was released on Monday. It received a great response from the fans and they are eagerly waiting for the film's release. Mahesh Manjrekar, who has directed the movie, has also acted in the film. And at the trailer launch, he was asked about directing as well as acting in the action-thriller.
The director-actor told ETimes, "I didn't want to act in 'Antim' but Salman forced me to do it. I prefer not to act in a film that I direct. Because you always feel you can't see yourself acting. You don't know what you've done. But then, the role was a beautiful cameo so I did it."
Furthermore, was also asked about his experience with Salman Khan. Reacting to the same , he said, "As a director, I've known Salman for so many years, we have done so many films as co-stars too. Beyond films, I treat him more like a brother than a friend because I am always at his house. I am well aware of his capabilities as well." He further added, "Directing him has never been difficult at all. In fact, this time it was much easier because I knew exactly what I wanted from him. The only thing I wanted was for Salman to say the lines and mean the lines. Many times, people enact their lines. With him, I didn't face any such difficulty because I know him and he knows me. I wasn't scared of him either. That helped a lot."
On the other hand, it was during the shooting of this movie that Mahesh Manjrekar was diagnosed with cancer. However, he continued to shoot the film as he battled through the disease. Talking about the same, Salman Khan was quoted as saying by ETimes, "He didn't tell us before. As soon as he finished a part of the shoot he got himself operated."
Mahesh added, "I have lost 35 kilos. It was during the shooting of the last portions of Antim that I was diagnosed with cancer. But today I am cancer-free."
Antim: The Final Truth marks Salman Khan and Aayush Sharma's first collaboration. The movie is slated to be released on November 26.
