As soon as the news broke of former Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj's sudden death, along with prominent political figures Bollywood celebs too paid a tribute to her via their respective social media handles. TV czarina and film producer Ekta Kapoor too was one of the celebrities to join the league. On this unfortunate happening, Ekta remembered how Sushma Swaraj played a pivotal role in her early days of career and lessons she learnt from her.
Mentioning in her tweet, she spoke about the first award she received from the former minister, setting an example of how women should help one another to grow and flourish. Her tweet read, "In my younger years I got so much support from Shushma ji! I still have pictures with her giving me my first award all over my office! gutted sad at d loss of a lady who taught me my first lesson... women should help women grow ! Thanku n rip shushmaji #RIPSushmaSwarajJi."
Just like Ekta many actresses and her female followers mentioned in their tribute how Swaraj was an inspiration for them and a hardworking lady with great leadership quality leading India towards a better future.
According to a report in ANI News, the former minister complained of restlessness at 9 pm last night and was rushed to the hospital at 9:30 pm. Though a team of doctors tried their best but failed to revive the BJP leader. Swaraj breathed her last at 10:50 pm in Delhi last night.
Her daughter Bansuri performed her last rites in Delhi at Lodhi crematorium.
