Farhan Akhtar's Fitness Coach Samir Jaura On Training The Actor For Toofan: 'It Was A Challenge As It Involved 3 Transitions'- EXCLUSIVE
Samir Jaura is a fitness coach and has been a part of the entertainment industry since quite some time. He has been training Farhan Akhtar for 17 years and has also worked on all of Farhan's looks in his upcoming film, Toofan.

On being asked about his 17 years long journey with Farhan, Samir says, "Our bond dates back to 2003 when I met Farhan for the first time after he came back from his film Lakshya's shoot. When I first met him, Farhan was a very lean and thin guy weighing just 54kgs. Despite being lanky, he was very fit. I was a member of a club in Bandra and so was Farhan. One day while I was training one of my students in the club's gym, I noticed a guy with long hair and a beard. I didn't recognize that he was Farhan Akhtar because he looked very different after his shoot for the movie Lakshya. He entered the gym, picked up a 5-pound dumbbell, did a routine for around 10 minutes, and left. To my surprise, he did the same routine repeatedly for three days. Because I was a trainer, I went up to him and jokingly told him that it would take him 20 years to get some muscles if he continued to do it that way." Adding to the same, he says, "That's how we got to talk and he enquired about my name and my profession. I offered to train him for a month on a trial basis. He was reluctant at first and wasn't sure if he could perform intense training, but ultimately he agreed to train with me. It has been 17 years now and he has not looked back since. I have trained him for all of his films and I am also his personal trainer. Now, the bond with him has evolved and he is more like a friend to me. I adore his dedication towards his work. For 17 years, the one thing that has remained the same is his dedication level. And whenever we work for a movie, it stands out beautifully because both of us share the same level of passion and enthusiasm towards our respective works." Lastly, sharing some insights about training for Toofan, Samir says, "It was a challenge as 3 transitions were involved for the movie. He had boxing training at the start of the day, so I had to give a break to his body to avoid injuries. To ensure that he gets enough rest throughout the day, I kept my training at the evening of the day i.e. two hours a day. The process went well and now people are really appreciating his looks and physique as a boxer in the trailer."
