Farhan Akhtar-Shibani Dandekar Wedding: Dad Javed Akhtar Says, ‘Parents Don’t Have Right To Poke Their Nose'
Lyricists Javed Akhtar has spoken at length about his son Farhan Akhtar’s marriage to his girlfriend Shibani Dandekar. In a recent interview, he made it very clear and addressed that as a parent we should not poke our nose in everything and act like an adult.
Rumours of Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar’s wedding has spread like wildfire. What added fuel to the fire was Shibani joining Akhtars for special dinner. While both refrained from confirming or denying the rumours, a report later suggested that they are currently very much focused on their career and the wedding is not happening anytime soon, at least not in 2020. When Farhan and Shibani’s wedding started making headlines, actor’s father and lyricist Javed Akhtar was asked about the same, he had then said that he hasn’t been informed about the development.
Legendary Javed Saab seems to be clueless about his son Farhan’s marriage to his girlfriend Shibani. In a recent interview, he made it very clear and addressed as a parent we should not poke our nose in everything and act like an adult. During a chat with Hindustan Times, when Javed Akhtar was asked about it again, he spoke at length about it and said, “I have no idea, at all. I keep meeting him. I’ve never asked him and he has never told me. “Once your children are grown-up people, they’re adults, you cannot treat them like children. You have to respect them, their privacy and personal affairs, the way you would for any adult. I don’t think parents have a right to poke their nose in everything, particularly after a certain age... I know they are very good friends, I know they are together, but that’s about all,” he further added.
