Fatima Sana Shaikh has come a long way in her career, and while it has been an incredible journey, it definitely hasn’t been an easy one. She has carved a niche for herself in Bollywood, and has quite interesting projects that will release soon. In a recent interview, the actress spoke about the struggles she has been through, and having faced casting couch. She spoke about being molested at the age of three, the stigma around sexual abuse, and why women don’t talk about being exploited.
In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Fatima Sana Shaikh said, “I was molested when I was just three years old. There is a stigma around the whole sexual abuse issue, which is why women and even don't open up about being exploited in life. But I hope, today the world changes. There is more awareness and education about it. Pehle toh yehi kaha jaata tha that don't speak about it. People will think about it differently." Speaking about facing casting couch, she said that she has been in situations where she was told that the only way to get work was by having sex.
“I have been in situations where I have been told that the only way I get the job is by having sex. There are several times people have taken away work from me,” she said.
Fatima Sana Shaikh will next be seen in Netflix’s upcoming multi-starrer film, Ludo, which also stars Abhishek Bachchan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Rajkummar Rao, Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf, Pearle Maaney, Pankaj Tripathi, Asha Negi, Shalini Vats, and Inayat Verma.
