Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan are set to share screen space for the first time in Siddharth Anand's upcoming film, Fighter. For the unversed, Hrithik will be essaying the role of an Indian Air Force pilot in the film. According to a report in Pinkvilla, Deepika will also portray the role of a pilot. The actors will perform some intense action scenes together.
Talking about the same, Siddharth Anand told Pinkvilla, “Deepika will be seen doing lots of actions together with Hrithik. You will see both performing action as both are part of the same team. It’s refreshing that a film that is so organic for the hero and heroine to do action. Upping the ante in the action with Hrithik and her is a big challenge for me, especially after War. With Deepika joining Hrithik, we have to raise the scale of action.”
He went on to say that after 'War', the expectations are high from Fighter. He also feels that as this movie (Fighter) will be the first of its kind, there is no benchmark set in Indian cinema yet and whatever they do will become a benchmark for others. "Fighter is rooted in its theme, story and language. It’s about the Indian Air Force, so we have kept the action realistic, believable and yet what I call as ‘heightened reality’ which will appease every fan of Deepika and Hrithik," he added.
He also said that the team will begin shooting next year in India. "We want to give the audience an experience that will blow their minds and justify them coming back to the theatres. We plan to shoot the film in India in the first quarter of next year as it's a big film and needs to be planned and executed in a proper way," he added.
