Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha Replies To A User Who Points Out He Called Mumbai ‘Bombay’: ‘I Love Mumbai Almost As Much As You Do’
A social media user pointed out that one of filmmaker Anubhav Sinha’s tweets mentions ‘Bombay’ and not Mumbai. Here’s how he replied!
Anubhav Sinha has been known to be very active on Twitter and doesn’t shy away from speaking his mind on the social media platform. This has led to both- praises and controversies over the years but he does reply to as many people as he can. The filmmaker is no stranger to trolls, or even people opposing his views on social media; and he often replies to them, sharing his point of view on the matter. A social media user recently pointed out that one of Anubhav Sinha’s tweets mentions ‘Bombay’ and not Mumbai, and Anubhav Sinha also responded to it saying that it was a long discussion.
Anubhav recently took to Twitter talking about how his sisters are starting a food venture in “Bombay”. He tweeted, “मेरी दोनों बहनों ने मिल के पूरब का menu बनाया है एक। दोनों मिल के एक satellite kitchen शुरू कर रही हैं बम्बई में। पूरब और बनारस का खाना। जल्दी बताता हूँ detail। मैंने पूरा menu टेस्ट किया है। मस्त है।“ Replying to this, a user pointed out, “Mumbai. Don’t disrespect the city.” Anubhav Sinha replied that it was a long discussion, one that won’t happen on Twitter.
Anubhav Sinha’s tweet read, “Sir that is a long discussion. Won’t happen over twitter. Just to finish the matter, I love Mumbai and Maharashtra almost as much as you do. Trust me.”

A few days ago, Anubhav Sinha was in the news for resigning from Bollywood via Twitter and he still has “Not Bollywood” attached to his user name on Twitter. His tweet about resigning from Bollywood had read, “ENOUGH!!! I hereby resign from Bollywood. Whatever the fu*k that means." He had later tweeted, “Of course I will only make movies. In fact more. But I am dramatically changing my own logistics that will be as sh*tless as possible. Will tell you more in times to come."
