Sanjay Dutt's furlough extension application has been rejected. Confirming this, Dutt's lawyer Rizwan Merchant told SpotboyE.com, ` Yes, Dutt's furlough extension application has been rejected and he is surrendering to the jail authorities today.''
Until yesterday, the news was that Dutt's furlough from his jail term at Yerawada in Pune has been extended for 14 more days.
Dutt had come home on a 14-day furlough on X'mas eve. He surrendered on Thursday only to return due to a confusion between the jail and the police authorities about his application seeking extension of leave.
A source close to the twist said, "There has been terrible confusion over Dutt's furlough extension application. One wonders if the decision was changed since there has been a lot of noise that Dutt was being given special treatment."
Dutt is serving his sentence after being convicted in the 1993 Bombay Blasts Case for illegal possession of weapons.
