Flashback Friday: When Amitabh Bachchan Ran Towards Waheeda Rehman With Her Juttis In Hand
Amitabh Bachchan recently confessed that he is one big fan of yesteryear actress Waheeda Rehman and on the sets of the film Reshma Aur Shera, he once picked up her juttis and ran towards her as they were shooting in a dessert.
We are all big fans of megastar Amitabh Bachchan, but do you know whose fan he is? On a reality show, Amitabh Bachchan made the big revelation. He said that he is a great admirer of yesteryear actor Waheeda Rehman and for him, she is the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. With this, he also shared an interesting anecdote from the past. During the shooting of Reshma Aur Shera, Amitabh Bachchan once picked up Waheeda Rehman's juttis (sandals) in hand and ran towards her.
Describing the scene, Amitabh Bachchan was quoted saying, "The first time I got an opportunity to work with her was in the movie Reshma Aur Shera. During the shoot, there was a sequence where Sunil Dutt and Waheeda ji had to sit bare feet in the desert, where it was impossible to stand in the sand with our shoes, because of the high temperature," as reported by IANS.
Elaborating further, he said, "I was so worried about how Waheeda ji was managing to shoot in such an extreme conditions and too without footwear. So, as soon as the director announced a break, without wasting time, I took Waheeda ji's juttis and ran towards her. I can't even express how special the moment is to me."
That's a great blast from the past. Amitabh Bachchan indeed appeared to be a true fan of Waheeda Rehman as he could not stop praising the star for her beauty and acting skills. Stating that she is the most beautiful woman he has ever seen, Big B stated that Waheeda Rehman is a good human being too. Interestingly, he also mentioned that the veteran actor has essayed the role of his mother in Trishul, to his wife Jaya Bachchan in Phagun and to his son Abhishek Bachchan in Om Jai Jagdish.
