Ameesha Patel and Sunny Deol are back with a bang! The Gadar 2 trailer is here and it’s nothing short of a treat for the fans. From the looks of it, the trailer promises the same excitement which was witnessed 23 years ago and this time, the sequel also brings back his son - Jeete who is all grown up and being tortured by the Pakistani Army. 

The excitement amongst fans is at an all-time high as the emotions around the film haven’t changed a bit as Sakeena, who has always been protective of her son, tells Tara Singh ‘mujhe mera beta chahye’, he begins his journey full of action, heavy dialogues, and a lot of jingoism.

Interestingly, nothing in the trailer hints at anything new, except for the fact that Tara and Sakeena have fallen deeper for each other with time. While its been 23 years since the Gadar was released, Sunny’s Tara Singh continues to sing the romantic melody ‘Udd Ja Kaale Kaavan‘, and she continues to adore him like a doting wife.

In the trailer, Tara yet again schools the Pakistanis by telling them how India is a great country, and half of Pakistanis will agree to move here if given a chance. 


“Kisce azaadi dilaoge tum? Agar yahan ke logon ko dobaara mauka mile na Hindustan me basne ka, toh aadhe se zada Pakistan khali ho jayega. Katora le ke ghumoge, bheekh bhi nahi milegi…” – he says.

The adherent fans of Sunny stormed social media to celebrate the return of the ‘hand pump’ in the new film.

Apart from all the drama, the Indo-Pak narrative, romance, emotions, and family values – it was interesting to see the makers didn’t forget the hand pump which acted like an extended character in the whole film. 

Reacting to the new trailer, one Twitter user wrote, “#SunnyDeol’s energy, #UdjaKaleKawa, #MainNiklaGaddiLeke and this iconic #Handpump scene can make target audiences rooting for #Gadar2 (sic).” Another said, “Only issue is it can undermine the legacy of Gadar ..the dialogues,scenes and drama is still of that same period as Gadar. most exciting part is Sunny Paaji staring at the hand-pump ☺️ (sic).”








For the trailer launch, Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel made an appearance at the grand trailer launch in Mumbai on Wednesday. The two were seen twinning in bright shades of red as Ameesha wore a Pakistani suit and covered her head while Sunny wore his turban with a red shirt and a blazer.

Gadar 2, also starring Anil Sharma’s son Utkarsh Sharma as the grown-up Jeete, the film is slated to hit the screens on August 11. The film will be facing a Box Office clash with Akshay Kumar starrer OMG 2 and Rajinikanth’s Jailer which releases a day prior.
