Ganesh Acharya Granted BAIL By Mumbai Court In Sexual Harassment Case, Filed By Female Assistant Choreographer-Report
Choreographer Ganesh Acharya has been granted bail in a sexual harassment case after he appeared before the magistrate court
National- Award-winning choreographer Ganesh Acharya can now heave a sigh of relief. As per the latest reports, a magistrate court in Mumbai has granted bail to Ganesh in a sexual harassment case. For the unversed, in February 2020, Ganesh Acharya was booked after a case was registered against him at suburban Amboli police station for allegedly beating up an assistant choreographer. In her complaint, she alleged that Acharya used to force her to watch pornographic videos whenever she went to meet him at his office.
The assistant choreographer added that he had done this not just with her but other women had also suffered at his hands. The complainant had also accused Ganesh of assaulting her along with two others, during a function in 2020. She also claimed that she was sexually harassed by him in the past also. This year in April, Mumbai Police reportedly charged Ganesh Acharya with sexual harassment and voyeurism among other charges. However, he was never arrested in the case. In the latest development, the Dehati Disco actor was granted bail after he appeared before the magistrate’s court. A case under sections 354-A (sexual harassment), 354-C (watching, or capturing the image of a woman engaging in a private act), 354-D (stalking), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the IPC was registered against Ganesh Acharya.
However, the 51-year-old dancer has denied all the allegations made by his assistant choreographer.
On the work front, Ganesh was recently seen in the dance-based film ‘Dehati Disco’ where he played the lead role.
