His performance in Udta Punjab won him awards and his chemistry with Kareena Kapoor was praised too. Diljit continued the winning trajectory with Phillauri which saw him paired opposite another A-lister, Anushka Sharma.
Now, SpotboyE.com has it that it is Ileana D’Cruz’s turn to romance the Punjabi star.
Ileana D'Cruz Will Soon Be Seen opposite Diljit Dosanjh
Diljit has been signed on for Shaad Ali's yet-untitled directorial venture. The filmmaker who is known to tell romantic stories like Saathiya and OK Jaanu, will work with the fresh pairing of Diljit and Ileana in the film.
Ileana who has two releases this year, Mubarakan opposite Arjun Kapoor and Baadshaho with Ajay Devgn.
Anushka Sharma And Diljit Dosanjh In Phillauri
Interestingly, Diljit was offered a role in Baadhshaho, but he bowed out of the thriller which is set in the Emergency period of 1975-77.
“Milan sir is a nice director. The role that I was offered I felt I would not be able to justify. It was a nice role. But I couldn’t relate to the character. I felt I couldn’t just do it. I did speak to Milan sir after that,” Diljit had told a section of the media about his decision to not do the film. Later, Emraan Hashmi stepped into his role.
Finally, Ileana and the Punjabi munda will share screen space.
Shaad Ali's film is all set to go on floors in September 2017.
