Happy Birthday Akshay Kumar: Actor Believes His Mother, Who Passed Away A Day Prior, Is Wishing Him 'From Up There'; Says, 'Life Goes On'
Akshay Kumar posted the tragic news of his mother's demise on his Instagram account Wednesday morning.
There are certain days in one's life which defy the ground rules of happiness. More so for Akshay Kumar, who is celebrating his 54th birthday today, but without the person who gave him birth. The actor's mother passed away a day prior to his birthday, due to age related issues. He had left his shoot in the UK mid-way to be with his mother when she was admitted to the ICU of a hospital in Mumbai.
While there are millions of fans and his friends and colleagues who have been wishing Akshay on his birthday, the actor is missing his mother. But he believes she is showering her blessings on him from another world.
Akshay Kumar posted an emotional note on Instagram and shared his belief with the world. He shared a beautiful photo of himself with his mother along with this note. He also thanked his fans for the wishes.
Akshay wrote, "Would have never liked it this way but am sure mom is singing Happy Birthday to me from right up there! Thanks to each one of you for your condolences and wishes alike. Life goes on."

Akshay's friends and colleagues from the film industry attended the last rites later in the afternoon. His wife Twinkle Khanna, daughter Nitara, brother-in-law Karan Kapadia, actor Riteish Deshmukha, friend Sajid Khan, filmmaker Rohit Shetty and producer Ramesh Taurani among others were in attendance.
Later in the day, Akshay's friends Shilpa Shetty and John Abraham visited his residence to pay their condolences.
