Happy Birthday Mummyji Actor-Writer-Director Shefali Shah: ‘Can’t Begin To Thank Everyone For Opening Their Hearts To A Story That Came From My Heart’-EXCLUSIVE
Shefali Shah seems to be in one of the greatest phases of her professional life. She has some amazing projects in her hand that will see her explore her personality so much more than what she has done till now. Also, she recently debuted as a director with two short films, Someday and Happy Birthday Mummyji (which she also wrote).

Happy Birthday Mummyji has been unanimously appreciated by fans and critics and within just two weeks of its release, the short film has crossed one million views on YouTube as well. Shefali has written, directed and acted in the film and has been praised for giving a touching and relatable story while juggling three roles.

Overwhelmed by the response, a thrilled Shefali shares, “I am overwhelmed with the response and absolute love that I have received for Happy Birthday Mummyji. I couldn’t have asked for anything more. I can’t begin to thank everyone for opening their hearts to a story that came from my heart.”

In an earlier conversation with Spotboye.com, Shefali had said that Happy Birthday Mummyji is her own story as well as the story of every woman out there, which got highlighted during the lockdown. “I am a working woman and at least have an escape to go to work, but a lot of women don’t have that escape. All they do 24x7 is look after people, their home, children, husband, mother-in-law and others. At some point of time, everyone reaches a point where they just want to let go, and not just women but also men, when you just feel like you want to get rid of all the responsibilities. That’s where this film came from,” she had said.

Meanwhile, in her amazing line up, Shefali’s next project is Vipul Amrutlal Shah's Human, where she plays a doctor. Her first look from the medical thriller was revealed just recently. She also has the second season of the International Emmy-winning drama Delhi Crime where she plays the lead role of DCP Vartika Singh. She also has a dark comedy, Darlings with Alia Bhatt and Vijay Varma and Doctor G with Ayushmann Khurrana and Rakul Preet Singh in the pipeline.
