It's truly been a happy Diwali for Shah Rukh Khan. Happy New Year, which continued its marathon run at the box-office despite other releases. It has already garnered Rs 183 crore approximately in three weeks in India alone.
In the meantime, Roar and Super Nani that released a week after HNY, sank without a trace. Last Friday, The Shaukeens and Rang Rasiya opened at the box-office, while one was a remake of the 1982 hit of the same name, the other managed to get to cinemas after waiting for eight years in the cans.
The Shaukeens collected Rs 18.52 crore on its first weekend. It opened with Rs 5.12 crore, gained a crore on Saturday and closed Sunday register with Rs 7.05 crore. Rang Rasiya only managed a weekend of Rs 2.35 crore. It opened with Rs 0.70 crore, added Rs 0.75 crore on Saturday and Rs 0.95 crore on Sunday.
