Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor Reveals His And Family's Reaction To Sonam Kapoor's Infamous Comments On Ranbir Kapoor On Koffee with Karan
Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor has opened up about the infamous and explosive comments made by his sister Sonam Kapoor on fellow actor Ranbir Kapoor a few years ago. For the unversed, back in 2010, when Sonam appeared on Karan Johar’s famous chat show Koffee With Karan, she, along with Deepika Padukone, made certain remarks about Ranbir that did not go down well with his father and late actor Rishi Kapoor. The Neerja star was also slammed by Ranbir fans for making such comments.

Sonam had said, “Ranbir is a great friend but I don’t know if he’s a great boyfriend. I have known Ranbir all my life and as a boyfriend, I don’t know, I mean, she (Deepika) did a great job hanging onto him for so long." In response, Deepika laughed and said, “Thank you!”

Now, in a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, Harsh Varrdhan revealed that Sonam Kapoor's comments affected the entire family. He was quoted saying, “I used to tell her (Sonam), I tell her now also, 'Sonam, jab aap yeh karte ho, hum sabko affect hota hai. Sirf aapke account ko tag nahi karenge, hum sabke account ko tag karenge. (When you do this, it affects all of us. They won't just tag you, they'll tag us all). And I don't want to deal with it, so please, please don't do it."

However, the actor also called the Khoobsurat actress ‘courageous’ and mentioned that he does not have that kind of courage. He added he believes there is no need to talk unnecessarily, and that one should just focus on their work and keep their heads down. “I think that's also not good. Sometimes you should speak up for the things that you believe in, but I don't like the backlash,” Harsh Varrdhan further said.

On the professional front, Anil Kapoor’s son made his acting debut with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's film Mirzya alongside Saiyami Kher. He was recently seen in Vasan Bala's Spotlight, one of four films in Netflix's anthology series Ray. Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor will next be seen in the biopic of shooter Abhinav Bindra, alongside father Anil Kapoor.
