Amid the outrage on social media and on the roads over the horrific 19-year-old rape case, another shocking incident has been reported in UP. It was recently when a 19-year-old girl was raped by 4 men in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh and she succumbed to her injuries, yesterday. Just a 500 KM away from Hathras, another 22-YO Dalit girl was drugged and raped in UP’s Balrampur city. The Balrampur victim died while being taken to a hospital in Lucknow. Well, soon after learning about a new rape case within a few hours of the previous one, citizens are expressing their fury over no women safety.
Not only netizens, Bollywood celebs have taken to social media to condemn the barbaric incident. Heartbroken over another gut-wrenching incident Kriti Sanon took to Insta to write a long note about teaching sons a right lesson. Lending her complete support in pregnant Anushka Sharma. Kriti Sanon, in her recent long Insta post, asked girls’ parents to tell them they are no less and also tell their boys they are no ‘man’ if they don’t respect women.
She penned, “Its, not a new story, its an old one! We have witnessed several such cases that made us angry, disgusted, upset, numb and scared all at the same time! People voiced in millions, protested, condemned, demanded the culprits to be given the most horrifying punishment possible, participated in candle marches and more! But the sad truth is that NOTHING changes!! NOTHING! India recorded an average of 87 rape cases every day in 2019 and 4,05,861 cases of crimes against women during that year- 7% more than 2018. (Not citing 2020 because lockdown statistics won’t reflect the real state)"
