Hindu Sanghatan Files Complaint Against Farhan Akhtar After His Comments On CAA; Alleges Inciting Fear
Recently, a complaint against Farhan Akhtar was filed by Hindu Sanghatan for his tweet on CAA. The complaint was filed against the actor in Saidabad police station, Hyderabad against Akhtar for allegedly inciting fear among Dalits, Muslims, and atheists through his comments
After the Citizenship Amendment Act was passed by the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, along with common people and the students of Jamia Millia, several Bollywood celebrities such as Ayushmann Khurrana, Rajkummar Rao, Parineeti Chopra, Alia Bhatt, Anurag Kashyap, and others have come out in open and raised their voice and expressed their concerns toward the new act. Even Farhan Akhtar took to his twitter handle and mentioned in a tweet that he will be joining the protest against CAA and NRC in Mumbai on 19th December, however, his tweet had landed him in a soup when an IPS officer demanded strict action against. Now a complaint against the filmmakers has been made by Hindu Sanghatan.
After his tweet which read, “Here’s what you need to know about why these protests are important. See you on the 19th at August Kranti Maidan, Mumbai. The time to protest on social media alone is over." Soon after, senior IPS officer Sandeep Mittal pointed out that he has broken the law and tagged Mumbai Police and the National Investigation Agency of India. Now the complaint has been filed against Farhan for posting ‘seditious Twitter post creating fear, chaos and thereby instigating, Muslim, transgender, atheists, Dalits to wage a war against the nation which may lead to anarchy and also promoting enmity between communities,’ read the statement.
