Hrithik Roshan’s Father Rakesh Roshan Opens Up On Fighting Cancer; ‘Was Sure I Had It Even Before Reports Came’
Rakesh Roshan, in his recent interview, opened up on his cancer ordeal and how he knew that he was diagnosed with the deadly C, even before the reports came out
It was in the month of January this year that Hrithik Roshan revealed that his father and filmmaker Rakesh Roshan has been diagnosed with early-stage throat cancer termed as ‘squamous cell carcinoma of the throat’. However, Rakesh Roshan soon underwent surgery for the same and defeated the deadly C. Now, in an interview with Midday, the Kaho Na Pyaar Hai filmmaker has finally broken his silence on his cancer journey and how did it begin. In fact, Rakesh reveals that he kind of knew that he was suffering from cancer, even before the reports were out. Roshan stated that it all started in September when he got a ‘seemingly harmless’ blister under his tongue. He felt that it was cancer because they had undergone a similar situation long back when his daughter Sunaina was diagnosed with the deadly C. However, upon consulting his family doctor, it turned out that there wasn’t anything to worry about. The traumatic journey began after three months when Rakesh visited a friend in Hinduja Hospital. “On a lark, I headed to the ENT specialist. The first thing he told me was to get a biopsy done. I came home and told my family that though the reports would come in four days, I was 100 per cent sure that I had cancer,” he said to the daily.
Further, Rakesh recounted his fear when a few doctors told that they will have to cut his tongue and take a part of the skin on his wrist and replace it with his tongue. However, Roshan took a second opinion from another doctor and it turned out that there was no need to undergo such procedure. And, as they say, the rest is history; Rakesh Roshan is now in the pink of his health.
