Hum Aapke Hain Koun Turns 27: Anupam Kher Was Diagnosed With Facial Paralysis When He Shot For The Antakshari Scene

There's no denying that 'Hum Aapke Hai Koun' is one of the best films. The movie remains a special one for multiple reasons. It starred Salman Khan, madhuri Dixit Nene, Reema Lagoo, Alok Nath, Mohnish Bahl, Satish Shah and Anupam Kher among others. As the movie completes 27 years of its release today, let's take a look at the time Anupam Kher revealed that he suffered from facial paralysis during the shoot of Hum Aapke Hain Koun.
Speaking with India TV, Anupam Kher said, "One day I was having food at my friend Anil Kapoor's home. His wife Sunita told me 'Anupam, you are not blinking with one eye'.. The next day while brushing water came out from my mouth on its own.. I went to Yash Chopra and told him 'Since last night my face is shifting to the left side. He asked me to go to the doctor. It was my first day of that scene in Hum Aapke Hain Koun! where the pillow game took place followed by songs."
He continued, "My doctor had asked me to not do anything for two months and just go home. He told me to take the medicines as I was in very bad shape." However, he decided to go ahead and shoot for the movie. He added that the cast members including Madhuri Dixit thought that he was joking but he explained his situation to them. He went on to shoot the Antakshari scene and said that if viewers watch the scene closely they will notice that he did not have any close-ups shots during that scene.
On the work front, Anupam Kher will be next seen in the movie Shiv Shastri Balboa. A couple of days ago, he took to Instagram to share the poster of his upcoming featuring Neena Gupta.
