Gurinder Chadha has begun shooting in Jodhpur for her next film, Viceroy House, which stars Huma Qureshi.
The Partition drama, which is based on the last leg of India's freedom struggle, boasts of a casting coup of sorts. Lord Mountbatten's role will be played by British actor Hugh Bonneville of Downtown Abbey fame. It will also have Professor Dumbledore of Harry Potter series and ace actor Om Puri in pivotal roles. Huma will be seen playing Puri's daughter.
The star cast also includes The X-Files famed actress Gillian Anderson and Simon Callow along with Lily Travers. Neeraj Kabi will play Gandhi and in Jawaharlal Nehru's role
