Illegal IPL Streaming Case: Tamannaah Bhatia Seeks Time From Maharashtra Cyber Police To Respond The Summon - DEETS INSIDE
Amidst the unfolding legal drama surrounding the Mahadev Betting App case, actress Tamannaah Bhatia has sought an extension from the Maharashtra Cyber Department to appear before them, citing her current absence from Mumbai. The case revolves around the alleged unauthorized streaming of the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) on the Fairplay app, a subsidiary of Mahadev's online gaming and betting platform. Previously, rapper and singer Badshah underwent questioning regarding the same case. Actor Sanjay Dutt was also summoned but requested additional time to present himself before the authorities. In a recent turn of events, actor Sahil Khan found himself behind bars after being arrested on Sunday. He was subsequently remanded to two-day police custody by a Mumbai court starting April 29.

Khan's arrest came following his apprehension from Chhattisgarh by the Mumbai Crime Branch's Special Investigative Team (SIT). Appearing before the Shindewadi-Dadar court, Khan, through his lawyer Mujahid Ansari, maintained his innocence, alleging that he had been wrongly implicated in the matter, merely accused of promoting the app. As part of the ongoing legal proceedings, Mumbai Police confiscated Khan's passport. He stands accused of involvement in operating a betting site and promoting illicit betting activities.

The Mahadev Betting App case encompasses more than 38 individuals, including Khan, with an estimated scam size of Rs 15,000 crore. Among the implicated individuals are Mustakim, brother of underworld figure Dawood Ibrahim, and the prime accused Ravi Uppal, detained in Dubai last year.

Sahil Khan, renowned for his roles in movies such as 'Style' and 'Excuse Me', has transitioned into the fitness industry in recent years. Initially, under the jurisdiction of local police, the case was later transferred to the Crime Branch's cyber cell, leading to the establishment of the SIT.
