Ranu Mondal is the emerging viral singing sensation and has gained her fame overnight. The lady whose video went viral over the internet has recently sung Teri Meri Kahani for Himesh Reshammiya's film Happy, Hardy and Heer. Ranu who was spotted singing Lata Mangeshkar’s Ek Pyaar Ka Nagma in a video and then the sky was the limit for the internet sensation. Ranu who has become a popular face now opens up in an interview about how she thanks the almighty as she is living a dream.
In an interview with Indianexpress.com, Ranu spoke in brief about her experience on her recently gained fame. Ranu shared that it was her first time and she was never trained by anyone ever. She mentioned how she has no clue on the technicalities of singing and that Himesh Reshammiya treated her like family and gave her the biggest opportunity of her life. Ranu spoke about how she cannot thank the almighty for making her live a dream. As she comes from a broken family, Ranu opened about up about how she has never experienced so much love and could not be happier from the love people are pouring at her. Ranu who was recently spotted on the stage of Superstar Singer was invited by Himesh Reshammiya on the show and could not ever in her wildest dream think that she would get a chance to be on such a big platform or even sing in a Bollywood movie.
Ranu further added that she was always inclined towards music after hearing popular singers like Lata Mangeshkar and Anuradha Paudwal. She added that she never had been trained or taught music and has grown up hearing to popular song of singers on cassettes. She added how she thinks singer Lata Mangeshkar is god and mentioned how he voice is the most precious gift to her. She spoke about her liking towards Anuradha Ji's voice in the film Hero and all her bhakti songs. She revealed how she heard Mukesh Ji, Rafi Ji and Shamol Mukherjee, whereas Asha Bhosale has also been an inspiration and thinks not all her songs suit Ranu and hence she chooses her songs as per her voice and also avoids singing sexy songs accordingly.
Mondal was found by Atindra Chakraborty who met the lady humming songs at Ranaghat railway station. The engineering student who works for an NGO shared the video of Ranu on Facebook to help her, which indeed was of great help to the singing sensation. Ranu Mondal has been receiving many offers since her appearance on Singing Superstar and has also got a makeover with the help of the NGO. Ranu has no place to live and was currently living in an accommodation provided by the NGO.
