Bollywood actor Aamir Khan’s beloved daughter Ira Khan is all set to tie the knot with her longtime boyfriend Nupur Shikhare. Having started dating during the pandemic, the couple got engaged in November 2022. They celebrated their union with an intimate party for the family. Now that the wedding ceremonies have begun, fans are eagerly waiting to see them getting hitched. They will reportedly tie the knot in a Maharashtrian-style wedding. Amidst all the excitement, they hosted their haldi ceremony on Tuesday, and videos of the same are going viral on social media.
Paparazzo Viral Bhayani took to Instagram to share videos of the bride-to-be’s mother Reens Dutta and step-mother Kiran Rao attending the haldi ceremony draped in traditional Navari sarees. While the filmmaker chose a lavender saree and paired it with a gajara for the occasion, Dutta wore a dark green saree. She even posed in front of the shutterbags with her to-be-son-in-law Nupur and his family. Fans immediately took to the comment section of the post to laud the family for their simplicity. Apart from them, videos of Ira and Aamir entering the venue have also surfaced on the internet. Fans are going gaga over the bride. For those who don’t know, Nupur is a fitness coach, who has trained Bollywood celebrities like Sushmita Sen and Aamir Khan. On the other hand, Ira made her directorial debut in 2019 with the stage production ‘Euripides' Medea,’ an adaptation of Euripides' Greek tragedy Medea. Apart from this, she also launched Agastu Foundation, which aims to help and support people battling with mental health issues.
Ira is Aamir’s only daughter from his first wife, Reena Dutta. They also have a son, Junaid Khan. After his first divorce, Aamir got married again to Kiran Rao. The couple, who are now divorced, welcomed their son, Azad, through surrogacy in 2011.
