Irrfan Khan Death: Actor's Son Babil Returned From London This March Amidst Coronavirus Scare; Wife Sutapa Sikdar Picked Him Up With Caution
Angrezi Medium actor Irrfan Khan breathed his last today, i.e., on April 29, 2020. He was admitted to Kokilaben Hospital, Mumbai after his health deteriorated as he suffered from Colon infection. The actor was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour in the year 2018 and he had traveled to London for his surgery. After battling with cancer for two years, Irrfan left for his heavenly abode leaving behind his wife and two sons. One of the sons Babil had recently returned from London amidst Coronavirus scare.

In an old interview with Bombay Times, Irrfan Khan's wife Satupa Sikder had revealed how she welcomed her son Babil at the Mumbai airport as he came back from London. She revealed that she took due precautions and didn't let Babil sit in the same car like hers. She was also the one who wrote to the Indian Government to let students stuck in London return home safely amidst the Coronavirus scare. Post his return, she was quoted saying, "The flight was late over an hour. While I waited in the airport. I looked around and was aghast. Many wore their masks like neck bands and all the hugs and kisses upon arrival made me swoon. I made such a fuss. I took two cars and didn’t let my child sit in mine, didn’t hug him and was armed with gloves and a scarf. So were both the drivers. In the airport they did a thermal check and let him (Babil) go."

At the time of his death, Irrfan's sons were by his side. Babil and his second son Ayan Khan, both were in Mumbai to take care of their father.
