Irrfan Khan was one of the most versatile and loved actors in Bollywood. His tragic demise left a huge void in the Film industry that cannot be filled.  For the unversed, Irrfan passed away on April 29, 2020, after a long battle with a neuroendocrine tumor, a rare type of cancer. Ardent fans of the actor and his family members are still struggling to come to terms with his unfortunate demise as they often remember the late actor on social media. Irrfan’s son Babil Khan often shares priceless and unseen photos of his father with fans on Instagram.

1. Life Of Pie
Directed by Ang Lee, this 2012 adventure-drama film was based on Yann Martel's novel of the same name. The storyline revolved around two survivors of a shipwreck. In the movie, Irrfan Khan essayed the role of adult 'Pi' and garnered much love and appreciation for his brilliant performance.


 2. The Lunchbox
Ritesh Batra’s directorial was one of the most memorable performances of Irrfan. The late actor played widower Saajan Fernandez, who delivers a lunchbox meant for Ila (Nimrat Kaur)’s husband. His performance and chemistry with Nimrat were loved by everyone. The Lunchbox, which was shown at many international film festivals, was the highest-grossing Hindi film of that time. It was surpassed by Irrfan’s Hindi Medium.


3. Paan Singh Tomar
The movie was directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia and it saw Irrfan Khan in a never seen avatar. The movie spoke volumes about his versatility as an actor and proved he can pull off any genre and role. Irrfan played the role of athlete and a seven-time national steeplechase champion, who went on to become a dacoit after his mother was killed. After taking revenge for his mother’s death, he died in an encounter. He also received National Award for Best Actor for his outstanding performance in the film. 


Besides these, Irrfan Khan’s other memorable performances include the British crime-drama film 'Slumdog Millionaire', Deepika Padukone starrer Piku, Hindi Medium, and Angrezi Medium. Homi Adajania’s 2020 directorial Angrezi Medium was Irrfan Khan's last film in his career.
